archeoArcheo Domains, a Marchex company, released its 3rd Quarter 2014 newsletter that includes great advice for business owners about why and how a premium domain can boost their business.

Archeo sold $1.6M worth of domain names. The most popular domains were 2-word .com and the average domain name length was 11.5 characters. (Average Character Length does not include numerics (NNNNN.com/.net) sales)

“It’s no surprise that our shortest, 4 character long, domains had the highest average sales price and our longest, 23 character long domains, had the lowest. However, it was surprising to see that 15 came in second, just 3% lower than our highest average sales price.”

This newsletter will highlights Archeo sales stats from Q3, featuring a few sales trends they found interesting. Archeo continues to focus on educating small business owners on how premium domains can help benefit their business.

“The use of a premium domain name as your website’s address is a smart move, not only does the dot-com TLD resonate with customers and add credibility to your website, they’re also often associated with popular keywords and most premium domains attract type-in traffic. This means people are actually typing in the exact terms or keywords searching for your type of business in your location. If your domain name keywords match or are related to what these potential customers are looking for, you are more likely to attract the most targeted leads.”
