.VIP domain names launch today, 17 May 2016, at 16:00 UTC. The time for general availability is 11:00 EST and 24:00 for Beijing, China.
.VIP is a Minds + Machines new domain extension and this is the first New gTLD they are launching in 2016 and since the change in leadership they had.
Minds + Machines announced in February that Antony Van Couvering was no longer the Chief Executive Officer of the Company. The Company’s new Chief Executive Officer is Toby Hall.
Last month Toby Hall said .VIP is targeting the China market for a successful launch: “Whilst cost savings from the restructuring will largely be realised in the second half of the year, the business is already on a much sounder platform and our absolute focus is the profitable growth of our domains under management. With this in mind, we confidently look forward to the launch of .vip in China in May.”
Go Daddy is selling .vip domain name pre-registrations for $10,17. Uniregistry doesn’t support .vip domains yet.
