Fabulous offers new TLD registration option – .biz and .us are still missing

Fabulous is NOT currently offering registration for a major gTLD like .biz and other gTLDs and ccTLDs like .us but is already ready to jump on the bandwagon to the new TLDs?

Fabulous promised me a few months back that it would be supporting .biz and .us. But I haven't seen any new developments yet. What is holding them down?

If you log into your account at Fabulous, under the register menu option you will see a new option that is called "New TLDs". There in not actually an option to register new TLDs yet and not even to pre-register. These are purely information/news pages with an option to create your own new TLD domain watchlist.

These pages are exactly the same as the ones offered by Enom for a few weeks now. Last year Fabulous announced a partnership with Enom.com. Demand Media (owner of eNom, eNomCentral, BulkRegister and eNom.tv) has invested almost 18m USD in about 100 new TLDs.

Fabulous PPC reporting moving to Actual Earn

As of December 1, 2012 Fabulous moved to Actual Earn reporting for parking revenue (PPC). All revenue data reported after this date are based on the daily per domain reporting Fabulous receives from their upstream partner. Revenue will not be displayed until Fabulous receives this data, though you will still see Impressions, Uniques and Clicks straight away.

You'll see changes in the Dashboard, Traffic Control, Domain Analytics, Revenue Reports and Expiry Control areas of your accounts and anywhere parking revenue is reported.

Fabulous reported parking revenue based on a rolling 7 day average of the revenue per domain. This is no longer the industry norm and was making comparisons on parking revenue difficult to calculate.

Cheapest .xxx domain renewal and transfer prices ($68.17 is the best price)

Extension .xxx is approaching its first anniversary on December 6th and it is time to renew your .xxx domain names. Many people like me used backordering and pre-registrations last year. Some may choose to transfer the domains in order to consolidate them from various registrars to their favorite one. But I think the list below is worth a look so you can see market prices for .xxx renewals and transfers. You might choose to change registrars after all.

Please keep in mind that the registry price for .xxx domain names is not even close to .com or any other major gTLD. It is a staggering $62 and retail prices are of course more than that. So choose wisely what domains you renew and what you drop.

The cheapest price came from what was a surprise to me: GoDaddy at $68.17 (using a coupon). Then there is DomainMonster that has a $69.99 price for .xxx transfers. Name.com (for transfers) and 101domain.com have their pricing set at $75 for .xxx domains.

There are a couple of European Registrars like dinahosting and gandi.net offering .xxx domains for €52 ($67.57) and €55 ($71.47) respectively but depending on where you live you may have to pay VAT tax and also you may have to make substantial purchases to get this rate.

Do you want cheap .xxx prices? Please find below the complete list of prices for .xxx domain names renewals or transfers from most of the .xxx accredited registrars.

Fabulous plans to offer more TLDs soon – .CO and .TV were the first two

I just got an email today from Fabulous.com announcing that they started offering .tv domain names. They have been offering .TV for a couple of months now. Here is the email:

Fabulous Now Offers .TV
The Home of Web Video.

Every day over 4 billion videos are viewed online. While video sites are great for hosting video, Internet users turn to websites to find the content they want to watch.

.TV is ideally positioned to capture users combing the internet for videos. You can monetize .TV by getting names users are likely to be searching for like viral videos that get millions of views in a matter of days.

With .TV there is a huge inventory of domain names that promote brands, make sites memorable, and makes increasing a site’s audience easier.

.TV is as easy to register as .COM and is available through Fabulous now.

Fabulous is an Australian-based ICANN accredited domain name registrar. Fabulous.com is currently the 17th largest registrar with 895,144 according to webhosting.info. Fabulous is the second largest registrar in Australia after MELBOURNE IT. It also operates a domain parking service. Last year Fabulous announced a partnership with Enom.com and since Enom is actively marketing and selling .tv domains (both premium and non-premium) it was a logical step to start offering .tv domains. Demand Media (owner of eNom, eNomCentral, BulkRegister and eNom.tv)  is an exclusive retailer for .TV Premium Names.

Fabulous.com is the registrar of choice for many domainers around the world because of it’s great customer care and it’s top notch security features including:
Fabulous Security Key

Nevertheless anyone can open a new Retail account with Fabulous using this setup form. So if you want to sell a domain name that is registered with Fabulous you can direct your client to the link above and then push the domain name to their new retail account. Be sure to explain to your client that the prices for renewals start at $29.95.

Fabulous.com has also been offering .co for more than a year now on top of .com, .net, .org and .info that has been offering for many years.

I reached out to Fabulous as to what other plans they have about serving more TLDs and I got a reply from their Customer Care Manager:

"We do plan to offer more TLD's.

.MOBI is next and we'll be expanding further after that, though the TLD's haven't yet been decided.

I would imagine that .biz and .us would be close to the top of our priority list."

I look forward to the new TLDs at Fabulous as it is my favorite registrar.
