Squarespace completes Google Domains migration

Squarespace announced that after the acquisition of the Google Domains business last year, it has now successfully completed the migration of millions of domains.

Squarespace  worked closely with the Google team to make the migration as seamless as possible.

Since the launch of Squarespace Domains eight years ago, it has become one of the leading global domain registrars. Over the last year, they have made significant updates, including a redesigned Domains dashboard, that makes it easier for users to manage their domain. In addition to the updated feature offerings, they have also added more than 100 top-level domains (TLDs) this year. From domains like .dev and .ai, to the newest TLD .music for music professionals, Squarespace Domains now offers over 360+ TLDs that support a variety of distinctive fields and industries.

Migrated customers can continue to enjoy a premium service with a full suite of tools included in every Squarespace Domain, at no extra cost:

  • Premium DNS powered by industry leading services, like Google Cloud DNS, provides secure and reliable connection and ensures domains always stay online.
  • End-to-end encryption protects and authenticates domains with DNS security extensions (DNSSEC).
  • A free SSL/TLS certificate from Let’s Encrypt secures and safeguards website connections to protect from hackers and guarantee a trusted experience for website visitors.
  • Email forwarding capabilities allow users to create up to 100 email forwarding addresses that match their custom domain name.
  • Domain forwarding capabilities allow users to forward domains to a preferred destination, including social media pages or Bio Sites.
  • Free WHOIS privacy keeps personal information private and protects users from unwanted spam.
  • Spam-free parking pages are clean, professional-looking parking pages for domains, free of ads.
  • Two Factor Authentication protects access to domains at the account level and is a standard security offer with any Squarespace account.
