Namecheap announces price increases

Namecheap announced that price increases are coming in most of their services in November 2021.

Here is the announcement:

After careful analysis of the market, and the impact it’s having on our growing hardware and software costs, we have made the decision to increase some of our prices.

Here we will explain exactly why this has happened and which products are affected.

Why are prices increasing?

Global technology prices are putting significant pressure on the market, with hardware shortages leading to a substantial increase in demand, IP prices doubling, and cPanel raising prices for three years running.

We have covered the rising costs ourselves for some time, but if we want to provide you with the same high-quality services, we need to keep up with technology trends, which are getting more expensive.

Which products are included?

You will start to see increases for new purchases and renewals across our core products, including .COM Domains, Shared Hosting, SSL Certificates, Private Email, and EasyWP. These will come into effect over the coming days and weeks.

Still committed to low prices and quality service

Even with these planned increases, our prices will still be some of the lowest in the market. As always, we are committed to providing you with high-quality products and services, and we appreciate your business and continued support.

  1. Increase from what to what?

Namecheap keeps giving cheap transfer and then trap you for the expensive renewal.

The trick is I transferred from GD to Namecheap(the big discount ) and make sure 30days before it expires, transfer to SAV..
I believe SAV is still the cheapest–hand reg at 6.96 and I resell them 1000% ROI- easy peasy

    The poll should be:

Best registrar for domain registration- SAV—nothing fancy and the dashboard is clean , user friendly.
**& when you register a domain at SAV , they throw in a useless dot whatever to go with it.
I hand reg and SAV throws in a for free…

    Best hosting site:?
    Best overall registrar:?

I am still looking for a good reliable cheap hosting registrar….

Seems like everyone is moving away from GD….hummn…I wonder why…

  2. I like SAV
I wish SAV have the feature to start the auction at the price you want instead of the default of $1

  3. Tsitsipas needs to fire his dad as the coach…!!

  4. We just been hit with our first renewal from NameCheap. Prices jumped just shy of 60% – YIKES!? Before renewal was around $9 per year. Feb 2022 it’s now $15

2 years ago, we moved all my domains to NameCheap to avoid Godaddy’s bloated pricing for domains. Now NameCheap are charging about the same prices where Godaddy left off, what gives?

    Very dissatisfied customer.
