I was only after 3 domain names from Donuts 3 new gTLD strings this week that were .farm, .codes and .viajes. I got one and I am happy with that.
Judging from the zone files there was not a lot of action in the first 4-5 days of EAP on the 3 strings. The numbers below include the sunrise registrations and registrations up to EAP day 4 – and day 5:
.farm 61 – 184
.codes 69 – 112
.viajes 44 – 61
.Viajes did pretty bad even compared to .farm and .codes that are a couple of the worst Donuts new gTLDs.
Most of the .farm good (not many) keywords are either reserved or high premiums ($250-$450 renewals). .Codes doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I don’t know the Spanish market so I am not sure about .viajes but judging from .travel and the recent launch of .uno things don’t seem promising.
Of course the bulk of domain name registrations happen after the 5th EAP day that started today and on general availability on Wednesday.
So I wanted 3 domain names since I guess there is a lot of money involved in the US with the legalization of cannabis in many states:
cannabis.farm (taken on EAP day 4 for about $700)
marijuana.farm (taken on EAP day 4 for about $750)
weed.farm (I got it on EAP day 5 for about $220)
(pot.farm was reserved)
I wasn’t prepared to pay more than $220 for these so I waited until day 5. Cannabis and weed have renewals at about $50 and marijuana at about $100.
Did you get any of these? I guess not!
