Superbowl 2016 is coming up this weekend and as Go Daddy does not have an ad during game day after 12 years all my attention is turned on the ads from 2 website development companies: Wix.com and Squarespace.
Wix: After making its Super Bowl debut last year featuring stars like Terrell Owens and Brett Favre, the website development company decided to return in 2016. The Tel Aviv-based company selected DreamWorks Animation to produce the 30-second spot. The new ad features characters from the upcoming DreamWorks film Kung Fu Panda 3. This is the final and full ad:
Squarespace: Last year, Jeff Bridges was featured in Squarespace’s second Super Bowl spot. Squarespace returns to Superbowl this year. The new ad was created by the agency Anomaly. Comedy duo Keegan-Michael Kelly and Jordan Peele, of tv show Key & Peele, will star in this year’s spot. The pair will also do live video commentary during the entire game for Squarespace using #realtalk on Twitter. This is the 2016 ad:
Wix – Two Thumbs up, great job!…Squarespace – Horrific!..What are they thinking?!!!….
Well if you know the comedians, its actually a funny ad. The problem is if you dont know that those 2 are comedians, it doesnt look good. With Panda its pretty safe bet.
I agree, I had to look up the comedians as I had no idea who they were..I still don’t think it was that funny though, hahaha……The Wix commercial got their message across VERY clearly, and that is what advertising and marketing is intended to do….You need to bring your “A game” when you have the largest audience in history watching…Again, Wix did a fantastic job!!!
