New York Mayor Bill de Blasio Supports .NYC

.NYC new extension entered landrush yesterday and New York’s new mayor Bill de Blasio is endorsing the New gTLD.

“This is a chance for more New Yorkers to claim their piece of the City’s high-demand digital real estate,” de Blasio said in a statement on Monday.

“There is no shortage of New Yorkers ready to claim their exclusive .nyc identities online,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio in a statement back in May, “and this is their chance to reserve their piece of this city’s valuable digital real estate.”.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) approved the .nyc new domain names while mayor was Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg, who made billions in the tech industry, said it would help city businesses and organizations stand out online.
