.Photography gets a boost as the first 21 New gTLDs from Donuts surpass 135000 domain registrations

The number of domain name registrations from the 21 first Donuts New gTLDs surpassed 135000 yesterday. The number does not include domain names without nameservers so the number is certain to be higher.

.Guru is still at the top with 35996 domain name registrations. That is about 26% of the total number of registrations. .Photography is closing in (20243) as it had more than triple domain registrations in the past 24 hours than .guru. That is probably because of some articles posted in the past 2-3 days on photography related websites. .Camera performance on the other hand is very disappointing.

7 of these New gTLDs entered the real (no EAP) general availability(GA) 2 days ago, so the data below includes more than 24 hours of GA:

  1. I think like many new fads, you are going to see insane drops next year, with very little drop market pickup, just based on what is going to be out there, and buyers will be able to be very picky.

Some extensions are doing extremely dismal, does not bode well for some of the others coming up, given that there will not be as much domaining money waiting later on in the releases.
