The Most Kind Reply To A Domain Quote

gtldsI got an inquiry from someone in the US for a .org domain name that I would categorize as a “religious” domain.

I replied with a quote and I got what is probably the most kind response I have ever received. You know what kind of replies we usually receive so this was a big surprise.

So here is the reply to my quote:

Thank you for returning my message. Unfortunately, your price tag is far too rich for what I am feasibly able to afford.

I truly wish you the best in getting a buyer for your domain. The name ****** is brilliant and deserving of someone who is worthy of it.

Best to you in all your endeavors,

Wow! Have you received anything like this?

  1. Yes, a few times, few, and far between.

    IF you are using DNS< I am getting many more blank inquiries than before, could be wording before lander.

    I am getting alot more inquiries out of India, but they simply do not have proper working budgets.

    With the good, comes the bad, many more lowball type offers, with self justification for better names, with a counter offer, usually comes frustrated responses of vulgar anger as it is out of reach, or they do not undestand the value of a domain.

    I notice I am spending more time than ever responding to offers, many more inquiries, but not very educated, or qualified ones. Hence have to put higher pricing for my time spent answering all this jargon.

  2. Kind reply’s are more than just considerate, they are a targeted sales lead. I have found that those leaving kind reply’s often come back at a later time with a much higher offer…For that reason a kind reply is more than just humane.

  5. It’s not just courteous. It’s smart. As sellers, I think we’re naturally inclined to raise prices when selling to rude buyers and to be more flexible when buyers are professional and polite. Not 100% of the time, but on balance.
