.Club Registry Sells VIP.club $40,000, THE.club $19,000, MJ.club $15,000

October was a solid month for .CLUB premium name sales, scaring up some strong deals through multiple channels including registrars, registry direct, brokers and aftermarket.

In addition, the registry ended the month by launching an auction of 25 2-letter names and one 1-letter name (C.club) on EJEE’s EachNic.com platform in China.  The fully bi-lingual (English and Chinese) auction is currently underway, and has been off to a good start, with the first 10 names all meeting or exceeding their reserves and successfully selling.

Total premium name sales for October, including SnapNames sales and auctions, came to a record $125,372.25.

As of October 31, 2015, total cumulative sales of registry reserved premium .CLUB names came to $1,268,199.27.  The highest single sale remains Wine.club at $140,000.00.  The registry introduced the tiered premium names to the registrar channel on July 1, 2015 and total sales, as well as the number of registrars making premium name sales, continue to increase on a month-to-month basis.  A list of participating registrars is available here.

This report presents all public registry reserved premium name sales that occurred during the month of October 2015, including the domain name, retail price, and registrar or marketplace where the name was registered.  Also included are results from names that have sold on SnapNames as part of the recently launched dropping domains program.

OCTOBER 2015 – OVERVIEW

In October, .Club ended the month with 29 registrars participating in the tiered premium names program via EPP.

During the month of October, 24 premium .Club domains were sold by a total of 10 different sources. GoDaddy led the month with 11 sales, followed by RU Center with 4 sales, and 2 sales were made directly by the Registry.  Sedo, Regtime, Key-Systems, NameSilo, Name.com, PDR and Right of the Dot all had 1 sale during the month.

The retail prices paid ranged from $79.99 to $40,000.00. The average price paid was $4,778.22, an increase of  51.15% over last month’s average.  Total premium name sales for the month excluding SnapNames sales were $114,677.25, an increase of 113.38% over September.  The top sales for the month of October include VIP.club for $40,000, THE.club for $19,000, and MJ.club for $15,000.

SNAPNAMES AUCTIONS

On August 13, 2015 SnapNames began offering dropping .CLUB names.  Deleted names are offered for $69.00, and names with multiple bids go into a 3-day SnapNames Auction. NOTE: Toward the end of September SnapNames modified the way they present dropping names and while there is a “bidder” column, they no longer show the number of bids placed for a name. This is intended to benefit domain investors who uncover a “gem” and don’t want others to notice due to a bid.

During October 102 names sold with a single bid and 29 names completed auctions.

The highest auction price was $551.00 for 300.club and the average auction price was $102.31.  Total SnapNames revenue for the month was $10,695.
