Verisign launched today a .com contest where you could win up to $35,000.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of .com, Verisign, the .com registry operator, today launched the #InternetOfficial contest, to help fuel small business dreams.
With top industry influencers and surprise celebrity judges, Verisign will offer monthly winners through April 30 the chance to win up to $35,000 for registering creative, memorable and keyword-rich .com domain names, helping them to bring their business dreams to life.
Verisign makes an example of the latest internet viral .com success:
“One of the most important steps for the growth of a small business is to build an online presence. And as recently seen by the great success the 22-character, descriptive.com domain name “ShipYourEnemiesGlitter.com” experienced in only 12 days, smart ideas registered on .com can make business dreams come true.”
Here is a video on how to enter the contest:
Have an idea for a great .COM? Perfect! Now’s the time to make it #InternetOfficial. Start by registering a descriptive, memorable and creative .COM domain name with one of our participating registrars, then enter it in the #InternetOfficial Contest at www.VerisignInternetOfficial.com for an opportunity to win up to $35,000.
The contest, which is open to U.S. residents only, will feature up to five monthly winners (for a total of 15) and one grand prize winner. A panel of top industry influencers and surprise celebrity judges, as well as the public’s votes will determine the five best .com domain names entered into the contest each month during the contest’s three month entry period. Each monthly winner will receive $5,000 and the opportunity to submit a video explaining the beauty of their entry. Those monthly winners who submit a video will proceed to the final round for an opportunity to win the grand prize amount – $30,000!
