An auction of several .vip, .xyz and .top (among others) domain names was staged on Alibaba’s AliAuction (TaoBao.com) platform in China on Friday May 20.
The auction featured 6 .vip domains, 6 .xyz domains, 6 .top domains and 4 IDNs. The 22 domains were sold for a total of $253,916.
.VIP domains did very well making a total of $146,278. i.vip was the top selling domain name for $48,836. .VIP just launched last week selling 167,231 domains names within 24 hours of its launch.
