It has been one year since the .BANK internet new domain name extension launched in May 2015, and the number of domain name registrations now stands at over 5,900.
In this initial year, 45% of banks in the U.S. have registered domain names – according to fTLD’s latest infographic. (see below) fTLD has tracked 2,575 U.S. banks registering a total of 5,212 .BANK domain names in this period. The average bank has registered 2.1 domain names.
However, banks aren’t the only ones registering .BANK domain names. 32 domains have been registered by trade associations and 24 have been registered by service providers.

- Massachusetts = 269
- Missouri = 266
- Illinois = 254
- Pennsylvania = 243
- Florida = 227
- California = 217
- Ohio = 198
- New York = 195
- Iowa = 182
Outside of the U.S., 647 registrations have been made by 270 banks.

- Turkey = 51
- Spain = 44
- Greece = 44
- Germany = 42
- Canada = 32
- France = 25
- China = 22
- Austria = 18
