Prince Charles gets PrinceOfWales.UK while Nominet also delegates royal.uk, supremecourt.uk and jcpc.uk

Nominet has delegated the new second-level .uk domain names royal.uk, princeofwales.uk, supremecourt.uk and jcpc.uk to the Royal Household, the Household of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council respectively.
Non of the 4 domains, which have a registration date of 16th of December 2013, currently resolve.
These institutions requested delegation in order to allow them – as bodies considered independent from government – to migrate away from the .gov.uk space.
These domains are the first of the 69 domains requested by government in response to a recent consultation to be agreed and delegated by Nominet.
Work is underway to agree the status of the remainder of the list, and Nominet plans to publish a final list by February 2014.
Charles, Prince of Wales, currently uses the domain name princeofwales.gov.uk as his official website. Whois shows that the registrant of princeofwales.uk is “The Household of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall” of course the address listed is the St James’s Palace in London, United Kingdom.
The domain name princeofwales.com was registered in 1999 and it NOT owned by Prince Charles but instead it is owned by a Belize company called SOHO HOLDINGS INC and is for sale and parked at the Domain Name Sales.
