Rightside is releasing their previously unavailable two-character domain inventory this week. 26,533 2-character domains will become available include la.actor, my.news, be.social, and more.
Prices start at $250 per year at Name.com and go up to more than $3,000 per year. There are also some “Platinum” domains that have not been priced by Rightside. If you are interested you may need to contact them directly.
Second Level Early Access Phase for Rightside’s inventory of two-character domains starts on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at 17:00 UTC, alongside the release of the .GAMES domain. There is already a .Games and .Live domain name auction at Namejet running.
The 26,533 2-character domain names enter general availability on the 21st of September.

Exactly. Many ll.cctld’s can be had for 10/yr after you buy them on the aftermarket. And the “rightside” of the dot only has 2 characters. Short on both sides of the dot is easiest to type and remember.
