I Just Hate Moniker

monikerYes, I know. Hate is a strong word but that is what I feel every time I log into my account at Moniker.com. I can’t stand the level of incompetence and indifference.

Every time there is a new problem while nothing gets fixed and they keep sending emails of new features that will come “soon” but never arrive even months after…

Yesterday I tried to transfer out 70 of my last 150 domains I have with them and it was a struggle. First of all the bulk auth code export feature has stopped working. It used to work but now it just gives a stupid error:
“Your request has been failed. A temporary error occured. Please try again later.”

I bet they did this on purpose so they make it harder to transfer out domains but I can’t prove this. Also they have two English mistakes in 3 sentences. Way to go Moniker.

Then they keep having problems with the private whois feature. Some domains have the old private email structure that will not forward emails.

Trying to change this I discovered that you can’t change the email address on Whois contacts. At least to the one I tried. I had to switch a few of my domains to a different contact template so I could receive the transfer out emails.

Moniker makes customers that want to do a simple task to simply hate their service.

This is what they announced yesterday:

The following system updates and improvements have recently been implemented:

  • Privacy for 170 new TLD’s Enabled

  • Improved Payment Error Messages

  • Increased Visibility of Payment Option Section

  • Increased Visibility for PayPal Payment Method

  • Improved Search Results Performance

  • Renewal System Upgrade

  • Automatic Bulk Registration and Privacy Discount

  • Live Support Chat (Coming Soon)

Be afraid of any “improvements” that Moniker does. It never ends well.

  1. These days I’m glad SnapNames fails to grab any domains for me, or they might end up with Moniker.

  2. Hate is a strong word, but it applies here. I hate their system too. Their support is worse.

The people who designed the Moniker interface and backend functionality should NOT never work in IT again.

  3. “not never”, lol. Not ever…

  4. i am curious how they manage to survive after all these.

People, wake up, it’s time to claim you rights against registrars, registries, market places…

Did you remember? Today is the first day of

1° international Domain Parking Strike – Enjoy the CPC EXPLOSION inside google!!!

Did you change the nameservers of all your domains? Manage to do it please, if you have not already shifted your nameservers.

If you want you can manage also to offer leasing/renting options on your landing pages (of course do not ask for that to parking platforms, you know it will be only a waste of time…).

Remeber the first international Domain Parking Strike – Enjoy the CPC EXPLOSION!!! will last until April 15th, 2015! Take back the control of your domains!

  6. I missed this a while ago. Uniregistry is doing great for and by its registrants. Let FrankP [at] Uniregistry dot com or Sevan [at] Uniregistry dot com know if you need some help moving there.
