Moniker is closed for maintenance until 9:00 am (EDT)

I visited Moniker looking for one of my domains that is missing only to find this message below. Moniker is closed for maintenance until 9:00 am (EDT).

I have made 2 post so far with all my Moniker problems:
Moniker: let the problems begin! (auto-renew, credit cards, control panel)

Moniker Problems #2 (disappearing domains, wrong whois, invoices, new account ID)

Here is the message:

To All Moniker Customers,

This past weekend we launched a completely new Moniker experience which involved the release of an entirely new Moniker website and customer portal. Our goal is to increase the products and services we offer while at the same time maintaining a robust set of tools that enable clients to effectively manage their Web properties in a single place.

We are aware that our systems were experiencing issues after the transition which resulted in outages affecting customers. Our engineering team is investigating these issues and is working to resolve them as quickly as possible. To ensure a fast recovery of site-wide functionality, we have decided to perform ongoing maintenance.

As a result, all services accessed through the website interface and API are currently unavailable. All domain services including DNS Hosting, URL Forwarding, Email Forwarding and general usage of domains registered at Moniker.com will remain unaffected. Please excuse any inconvenience this may cause.

All operations will be resumed at 9:00 am (EDT). As you can imagine, these issues have caused a significant increase in call volume to our support staff and we are working diligently to resolve each and every case. We are working around the clock to resolve your questions and concerns expeditiously.

  1. I was told by support this morning that the problems I was experiencing were due to me logging in with a “subuser” account, whatever that is. The arrogance is incredible. Basically, “we’ve rolled out a new interface without telling anyone, it’s completely broken, and it’s your fault for logging in to it.”

  2. Apparently the can;t tell time as is is 9:15

  3. what time zone are they on LOL

  4. i think no date was put up on purpose…. am now losing domains sold off at snapnames…

  5. They are by far the worst company I have ever experienced – sure, bugs happen but to roll out this site change without the benefit of domain related beta testers is ludicrous. This all could have been avoided. While all the chaos has been going on customers should have been given the option to use the old site so they could make renewals or initiate transfers away from this sinking ship!

The phone support is also a cluster mess. I have been trying for days to get them, only to have my call go to voice mail after a 45 minute wait. I think it is to late, there is nothing they can do for me – I am done and thousands of domains will be coming with me.

  7. Created by Name.com account yesterday. The interface is very slick. The security is both question & answer (the same thing Moniker charge $140 for) plus verisign powered auth app for you phone. I’m so out of there when they let me in. it’s nearly 10am now in moniker land… i’m betting another 24hrs offline

  8. 10:20 and still not up… I think FREE renewals are in order for all domains expiring this month!

  9. Moniker Customer

    I have registered OccupyMoniker.com / org and MonikerWatch.com /org

I hope they get their act together and this doesn’t turn out to be another RegisterFly fiasco in case any of you remember that one. Tens of thousands of name were lost, deleted or vanished. I lost over 300 domains in that mess. Supposedly ICANN has implemented procedures for warehousing whois data so this wouldn’t happen again.

Just to be on the safe side if anyone out there would like to get involved in getting the word out, with enough interest and assistance (as I am not a blogger) i would consider creating a site and spreading the word. You may email to get on list to: jaymiany99@gmail.com

  10. Then you should be offered a credit of an equal amount –

  11. ZYX (these top level domain will make not 1, but 2 millions within one year!!!)

Do you all really think that all this is not planned?
Come on, these are the first steps of the war… You were screwed in mass.
Are not Snapnames, Network Solutions, dd24, 1and1, Web.com all part of the same group? If not please correct me, maybe now I am wrong and I don’t want to lose other time for these tricky people. If yes, all those names have no meaning for you? Are you active in this industry or do not even read these domain blogs (“these”…. I mean some of them, the others of course have already lost completely their credibility).

P.S. Let me thank Francois for having supported Konstantinos (and thank you to you of course, Konstantinos).

PPS Speaking about Carrillo’s ventures, any news about serious staff like lend.me? That site is something serious that deserves postS (not that .xyz..: thank you all for the laughs! The child thinks we are all stupids… (like many others in this idustry think…). I hope he will reach 1billion registrations so that he will stop to occupy precious time and space that must be reserved, as I said, for serious staff like the above mentioned lend.me, for instance).

    • Moniker is back up, but no change for me:

      1) i cannot switch off the renewal of portfolio lock
      2) i cannot switch off portfolio lock (the job keeps failing) so i cannot make any changes to any domains

now my inbox is filling up with notices about how they have charged my card

i tried calling Moniker, and was cut off after an automated message said “thank you for cal” – even the answerphone doesn’t work, it can’t even finish the sentence.

morons. why bring it back up riddled with bugs again?

  12. still missing domains, still can’t unlock, still can’t get auth codes, still can’t use paypal and probably still can’t renew either…so what were they doing while it was down?

    • i take that back, i managed to unlock and get auth code and change whois…gonna see if i can get some domains transferred..

      • Please let us know if you can.
        Thanks

      • well i submitted a transfer and got notification from moniker but it seems the ONLY feature i would of liked to see added to moniker, instant transfers, still doesn’t exist. i tried changing the link from “deny” to “approve” but when i click “activate” it says “541 Invalid attribute value; no request pending”…so if it will work or not, i guess i will have to wait until the 9th to see…problem is i will need to renew the domain before then GRRR….

      • Maybe it needs a couple of hours before the transfer is actually pending.
You can try that later and see if that “approve” option works.

If a domain is pending transfer then you have no problem with the renewal. It’s status will not change to expired while it is pending transfer and it will be renewed on completion of the transfer.
