I am not going to NamesCon Global in Las Vegas this year. After 4 years in a row I will miss this year’s event.
Although I had my NamesCon pass for many months now something was holding me back from booking my flights and hotel to Las Vegas. I then decided before Christmas to take a small break from work and that included not going to NamesCon this year and the trip lasts almost 2 weeks for me including a New York stop for a few days and 6 flights.
It seems that my hunch was proven correct when last Friday my mother entered the ICU unexpectedly. She came out of the ICU yesterday feeling a lot better but we don’t know what caused her condition. Some tests are out (seem good) but some other tests may take up to a month. Anyway she is still at the hospital and if I had booked my tickets to Las Vegas I would now be trying to cancel them…
I will miss all my friends that are going this year at NamesCon and a few that are not going for various reasons. (Hey Art, where are you lost? Tsitsipas reached the Australian Open semis.)
I plan to be at NamesCon Europe this June in Lisbon, Portugal. My wife tells me it is a beautiful city.
And of course I will try to make it next year at NamesCon global at the new location! So long Vegas Baby!

Wishing your mother a quick recovery! We will miss you in Vegas! Please convince NamesCon Europe to have the event in Athens next year and I will help promote it. A few days and Athens followed by Greek island hopping would make any domainer happy!

I will ask them to have an event it 2020 or 2021 in Athens. That is a great idea. Especially the island hopping! June is the best month for traveling to Greece.
