TLD Registry Announces 3 New Board Members

TLD Registry, the exclusive owner/operator of the Dot Chinese Online (.在线) and Dot Chinese Website (.中文网) top level domains, today announced three newest members of the board: Chairwoman of the board Kirsi Eräkangas(伊可思),Vice Chairman Harri Koponen(柯皓锐), and board member Jari Tuovinen (陶杰瑞).

Eräkangas is a 20-year veteran as a business angel investor, advisor, and board member for several different computer-based companies in Finland. She is also the co-founder of Basware, a Finnish e-commerce company that is listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

“TLD Registry is the most promising business case operating in the arena of expanding internet utilization, and quickly developing Chinese-speaking markets,” Eräkangas said. “As I have experience on several start-ups and growth seeking companies, TLD Registry’s shareholders asked me to lead the board of directors to support the management in exploiting this opportunity.”

Koponenjoins the TLD Registry board as the former CEO of Sonera, the largest tele-operator in Scandinavia. He was also the right-hand man at Sony Ericsson, as well as the COO of entertainment media company Rovio, which is responsible for creating the popular mobile game “Angry Birds.”

As a new board member, Koponen will also implement his extensive leadership experience into the many development aspects of TLD Registry’s business model.

“TLD Registry’s direct communication channel to companies and their Chinese customers will better connect them to our high-potential and very promising Chinese domain names,” Koponen said.

Tuovinen is a partner and co-founder of TLD Registry’s original venture capital source, Vision+. Aside from being a serial entrepreneur and investor, Tuovinen also has substantial knowledge and experience in both software development and computer technology.

TLD Registry CEO ArtoIsokoski believes that the addition of the new board members will provide a stepping-stone to the next level of successful business.
