Here are the domain name registration results from this week’s 5 New gTLD launches:
.Scot, the New gTLD for Scotland, launched on the 23rd of September. .Scot had 4,509 domains registered on its first day.
2 Donuts New gTLDs were out of the EAP pricing and into the real (reg fee) general availability on Wednesday: .Direct and .Place
.Direct has 1,716 domains after day 1 and .Place had 775 registrations.
Minds + Machines launched 2 New gTLDs on the 25th of September: .beer and .surf.
.Beer had 1,930 domains and .Surf had 570 domains after its first day.
The “New gTLD 1st Day Registrations” include sunrise domain names as well as any domains registered by the registry or any founder’s program. Any registry is allowed to register up to 100 domains for it’s own use and give out another 100 as part of the New gTLD founder’s program.
(I am always comparing the same first hours from their 1st day for all New gTLDs. The hours between General Availability and the first zone files update.)
