.BAR Donates $100,000 To A Local School At The City of Bar, Montenegro

With the Launch of the New .BAR New gTLD for Bars and Nightclubs, Domain Company Punto 2012 Commits to an Annual $10,000 Donation to the Meksiko School in Bar, Montenegro, until 2024.

.BAR domain was released specifically for bars and nightclubs but it will also be valuable to businesses, organizations and individuals in Bar, Montenegro, as they share the same name.

Punto 2012 and the Bar municipality worked together to create a system enabling the citizens of the city to conveniently register domains.

MEXICO CITY — In celebration of the launch of new generic top level domain (gTLD) “.BAR,” civic leaders from the nations of Montenegro and Mexico celebrated at an event in the coastal city Bar, Montenegro, last week as Punto 2012 presented the first of an annual $10,000 donation to the Meksiko school that will net $100,000 by 2024.

Although the .BAR domain, released also with the .REST domain for restaurants, was released specifically for bars and nightclubs, it will also be valuable to businesses, organizations and individuals in the Bar municipality, as they share the same name. Punto 2012 and Bar worked together to create a system enabling the citizens of the city to conveniently register domains.

“I hope the cooperation between the municipality of Bar and Punto 2012 will serve as a good example to other successful companies to take part in the improvement and creation of even better conditions for educating our young people,” said head administrator of the municipality of Bar, Zoran Radonjic.

“We are truly thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to become part of the fabric of the future of the Meksiko students,” said Aaron Grego, CEO, Punto 2012. “It is our hope that this donation will help their academic futures and, as Bar is one of the first cities in the world to get its own Internet domain, we also hope that .BAR will become a part of everyday life for the citizens of Bar.”
