Nominet: New Registrar Agreement and Data Quality Policy approved

Nominet published the approved new .uk Registrar Agreement and Data Quality Policy, which recognises higher standards and the diversity of registrar business models.
The final agreement and policy aim to ensure that registrants have a positive customer experience and that the data that we hold is of the highest quality.
The new agreement outlines raised standards, while offering a framework that recognises the diversity of registrar business models. Nominet will be contacting all registrars to offer advice and assistance with selecting the tag type that best suits their needs and to ensure all necessary additional information is provided.
Once the new agreement is in place Nominet will begin an audit programme to ensure registrars are meeting their obligations under the new agreement and other policies.
This marks the conclusion of an extensive review process and Nominet would like to thank everyone who contributed.
Nominet considered all of the feedback submitted during the recent comment period. A number of minor amendments have been made to the draft published in November 2013 to ensure the new agreement best meets the needs of different registrar business models.
Minor changes have also been made to the Data Quality Policy. Nominet will issue formal notice of the introduction of this policy on the 4 April 2014 and it will come into force on 6 May 2014.
