Domain Name Q&A – January 9th 2014

My new column is called Domain Name Q&A. I am using the search terms that visitors of my blog are using at Google and other search engines to find my website. Some of the search terms are in the form of questions and some are not. I take these search terms, treat them all as questions and attempt to answer 5 of them every day. Answers are kept sort most of the time. Anyone can ask a domain related question using the “contact us” form.

I also get a lot of inquiries for my domain names. Most of my domains are parked at the DomainNameSales platform that anyone interested can leave a comment. Sometimes people leave a strange or funny comment and that is featured in “Inquiry of the day”.

Inquiry of the day:
Comments on FuckYouToo.com (yes I own it) domain name sales lander after I send the buyer a quote:
“How bout this
Fuck you too
Not paging $xxxx for a domain name”

My reply was: “Fuckyoutootoo.com is available for $10”
Then I got an offer for $10!!! 🙂

Question 1:
domain transfer moniker ack
Answer 1:
Moniker is one of the few registrars (and the only one that I am using) that does not allow an “ack” of domain name transfer. Domain name transfers, from one registrar to another, take 5 days. The only exception to this would be an explicit request by the registrant or administrative contact of the domain to manually approve (ACK) or deny (NACK) a transfer request. The explicit request is made to the registrar of record (losing registrar). The gaining registrar cannot ACK or NACK a transfer request. Fabulous.com allows this and even Go Daddy does using the domain manager. Moniker does not. I even emailed support on 3 different occasions and they refuse to do it.

Question 2:
ambassenecanada.org namejet bid
Answer 2:
Maybe you had a bid on this domain on namejet but the domain name dropped on the 26th of September 2013 but was caught by a different backorder venue. Namejet is not too good with .org backorders. I guess someone else owns the domain now.

Question 3:
Dear Sir Please can you tell me why my domain Name has is inactive? Thanks
www.gorran-parish.info
Answer 3:
Your domain name gorran-parish.info is still active. My domain name is parish.info. Not the same domain name.

Question 4:
go daddy is having problems
Answer 4:
Yes they do. All the time. I am currently having a problem with them. Nothing new here. Move on.

Question 5:
search engine icm registry
Answer 5:
Icm Registry, the registry operator for the .xxx gTLD, operates a porn serach engine at Search.xxx. The results only feature websites on .xxx domain names.
