Trademark Clearinghouse announces new fee structure

The Trademark Clearinghouse, launching the 26th of March, has announced some crucial changes in its fee structure. The changes are applicable to Trademark Holders and Trademark Agents who opt for a Prepayment Account (Advanced Fee Structure)

  1. Any trademark record registered for multiple years during the Early Bird Registration Period, will be rewarded with twice as much Status Points (e.g., a 3-year Early Bird Registration will result in a total increase of 10 points, and a 5-yearly-bird registration will result in a total increase of 18 points. Earning Status Points much quicker will also push the Trademark Holder or Agent to higher discount levels sooner. Now only 56 trademark records for 5 year are needed to reach the next discount level.
  2. In addition, the threshold levels to reach the next discount are significantly lower. A Trademark Agent or a Trademark Holder opting for the Advanced Fee Structure will now pass through the lower discount levels much faster. The amount of Status Points held by a Trademark Holder or Trademark Agent determines which price level is applicable to the registration of such Trademark.
