The Trademark Clearinghouse, launching the 26th of March, has announced some crucial changes in its fee structure. The changes are applicable to Trademark Holders and Trademark Agents who opt for a Prepayment Account (Advanced Fee Structure)
- Any trademark record registered for multiple years during the Early Bird Registration Period, will be rewarded with twice as much Status Points (e.g., a 3-year Early Bird Registration will result in a total increase of 10 points, and a 5-yearly-bird registration will result in a total increase of 18 points. Earning Status Points much quicker will also push the Trademark Holder or Agent to higher discount levels sooner. Now only 56 trademark records for 5 year are needed to reach the next discount level.
- In addition, the threshold levels to reach the next discount are significantly lower. A Trademark Agent or a Trademark Holder opting for the Advanced Fee Structure will now pass through the lower discount levels much faster. The amount of Status Points held by a Trademark Holder or Trademark Agent determines which price level is applicable to the registration of such Trademark.
