ICM Registry drives a hard bargain: company bought 25 .xxx domains and got no discount

ICM Registry announced on the 14th of February the sale of 25 Premium Domains in a deal worth $185,000 to IRIS SARL, based in Luxembourg. ICM didn’t reveal the complete list of the domain names and the prices. I had reported the sale of these domains a week earlier and I had included the individual price for each domain name:

adultchat.xxx $33,000
assfuck.xxx $6,105
auditions.xxx $1,650
bigboobs.xxx $18,645
bikini.xxx $4,950
blackpussy.xxx $3,630
boytoy.xxx $1,485
bukake.xxx $3,465
desire.xxx $4,125
directories.xxx $3,300
discipline.xxx $3,300
dungeon.xxx $3,135
freegirls.xxx $1,980
freepornvideos.xxx $4,290
freepussy.xxx $1,980
gaybears.xxx $1,155
grannies.xxx $3,300
hotvideo.xxx $1,155
kinkysex.xxx $3,300
maturewomen.xxx $2,475
sexclips.xxx $3,135
sexclubs.xxx $3,300
sexonline.xxx $6,600
sexvideos.xxx $15,510
singles.xxx $49,500

The total sales value of the 25 premium .xxx domains was $184,470 and the reported sales value, that was probably rounded off, was $185,000. This means that the prices ICM Registry has put for the list of 1046 premium .xxx domain names are firm and no further negotiations can be made. IRIS SARL didn’t get a discount and that was the second significant order from IRIS who previously acquired $650,000 of premium Names back in September 2012. If they couldn’t get a discount with that much volume then I think that no one else can.

  1. Konstantinos,

I always enjoy reading your blog. It’s so informative.

    One question:

I own YOW.xxx. What do you feel the value is?

    Thanks.

    Michel

  2. .xxx is a waste of money. In a couple weeks there will be tens of thousands of dropped domains coming available for reg fee.

The only ones that renewed their domains were defensive and trademark registrations.

The vast majority of domain holder did not renew or renewed only very very few.
