.Realtor launched yesterday by the National Association of Realtors that is offering 500,000 free domains to its members. One problem with the extension is that geographic, generic terms and initials are not available for anyone to register. And only members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) and The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) can use the .REALTOR domain.
I wasn’t expecting a lot of registrations on day 1 as all registrations will need some sort of approval from the registry including NRDS id for NAR & IRMs and NAF id for CREA and of course they need to pass all the naming rules.
But I guess we will never know about the domain registration numbers as the .realtor registry is not approving any zone files requests. Mine is pending since the 20th of August.
And I see that others, such as ntldstats.com and namestat.org, have not taken the zone file approval as well. ICANN must do something about this.
