.Domains Domain Name Sales: 10 sold for $3,000+ and 45 for $1,200+ (nyc.domains, london.domains, safe.domains)

This past week the following 3 New gTLDs entered general availability with EAP: .domains, .limo and .cab. Yesterday I posted the 6 EAP sales for .limo and .cab. Today it’s time for the .domains EAP domain name sales.

No .domains New gTLD domain names sold in the first day of the Early Access Program (EAP) for $12,500+. Click here to see all past New gTLD 5-figure sales.

Some of the sales were difficult to find as a few domains don’t have nameserves and don’t appear in the zone files.

There were 10 domain names sold on the 2nd day of the EAP for about $3,200 each or more depending on the registration/renewal prices (premium level or no premium):

vegas.domains (Michael Berkens and Worldwide Media, Inc.)
nyc.domains (Michael Berkens and Worldwide Media, Inc.)
paris.domains (Michael Berkens and Worldwide Media, Inc.)
london.domains (Michael Berkens and Worldwide Media, Inc.)

only.domains (onlydomains.com)
safe.domains (domainlicenses.com)
secure.domains (domainlicenses.com)
pay.domains (domainlicenses.com)
kids.domains (domainlicenses.com)
irish.domains (irishdomains.com)

There were also 45 .domains domain names bought at about $1200 each in the third day of EAP.

The company Peplum LLC bought 28 domains such as like.domains, you.domains, coupon.domains, smile.domains, tunes.domains, play.domains and moi.domains. They spend over $35,000 for these purchases on one day only.

Michael Berkens and his company Worldwide Media, Inc. continued their buying spree into the third day with 8 purchases. Most of the domains were connected to geographic new gTLDs that are coming out if a few months such as tokyo.domains, MIAMI.domains and
boston.domains. He also bought the domain marijuana.domains.

Someone also bought cannabis.domains but the domain is behind privacy whois.

dotStrategy, Co. bought the domain name buzz.domains.

Chad Wright and WebQuest.com bought geo.domains.

If anyone is wondering I made my first new gtld purchase for over $1000 with the domain name newyork.domains.

The total .domains EAP purchases from just the first 3 days is at about $90,000 or more depending on the premium domain names.

I also checked all the corresponding domain names in .com (including plurals) and found 14 that were sitting unregistered today:
roomdomains.com
wanggoudomains.com
songdomains.com
tushudomains.com
joydomains.com
circledomains.com
readdomains.com
tunesdomains.com
moidomains.com
wanggoudomain.com
tushudomain.com
pindomain.com
readdomain.com
tunesdomain.com

A lot of the registered .com domains are owned by domainers and domain companies such as Page Howe, Huge Domains, Mrs Jello, Future Media Architects and myself.

Some of the purchases above might be higher that reported if the domain name is labeled as premium. Premium registration/renewals start at $50 and go all the up to $1500 per year. Prices are approximate and depend on what each registrar charges on top of the registry fee.

You can register a domain name using the Donuts EAP that is available in registrars that sell Donuts gTLDs. EAP prices start at about $12,500 and are lowered within the course of the week until they reach the regular registration cost after the 7 day period. The EAP wholesale registrar prices are:
$10,000 (day1)
$2,500 (day2)
$950 (day3)
$500 (day4)
$100 (days 5-7)

Go Daddy’s early access prices are at about $12,539.99 for day one, $3,164.99 for day two, $1,239.99 for day three, $689.99 for day four and $189.99 for days five to seven. After day seven the regular registration cost applies.

I regged J.Domains (Last day EAP, so not big money).

I’m surprised that so many were regged; I kept hearing that domainers wouldn’t be regging these.

It will be interesting to see the numbers for the first week of GA.

    🙂

  2. Isn’t this the whole eco crisis all over, I thought names like nyc vegas london etc were blocked? I don’t see the vision behind spending $3K and assuming premium renewals on top, does anyone else?

  3. i noticed webquest got brandable.domains on 3/9. berkens got brand.domains on 3/8 as well as gtld.domains. a number of people got single letter domains on 3/8/9 (webquest got i.domains). com laude got manage.domains on 3/9 as well as idn.domains.

  4. i.domains was the one to get, it was hovering, I think everyone was just counting down the clock to pounce on it, it went for the $1k plus premium, I think the letter G, O, V, D, A, and B have some uses.

  5. What is the thought behind the Geo .domain registrations? I don’t associate domains or domain services with a locale. I get why a company dropped the bucks on Miami.limo because it is a service that is specific to a geographic area, but why would someone need a Miami.domains (as an example)?

  6. @Zournas,

DomainNewsWire.com is reporting that you purchased over 75 dotdomains names by their count. Is that true, if it is, what are the top 10 you bought? I must say I’m stunned.

    • Do they? I will check it out!
      Here are a few:
      o.domains

      • I hope u got a huge masterplan for those 🙂

I am not a fan about the golives in this week and just spent 200 bugs.

For a long time I thougth about to buy the vegas.cab in early and start a project with it .. but .. vegas .. never was there

      • I would think some of the .limos, and geo .limos are big business, they are a real business, that generates revenue daily.

      • totaly agree
for sure there are a lot google searches per day for vegas + limo oder vegas + cap for example

  7. It’s actually DomainNameWire.com not news wire.
Those are great keywords for the .domains string. Good luck.

  8. Ohhhhhhhh…….whiskey river, candy mountain ♫ ♫ ♫ .

  9. Hi guys.
I´m Mariano from NicMarket.com and we got 3 names: (dot domains)

    Trade.domains
    Award.domains
    Featured.domains

In my opinion “Trade.domains” is one of the most valuable domain name in the dot domains extension. In the millionaire industry of domaining the word TRADE (that means sell, buy, swap, exchange etc…) associated to the .domains extension is a perfect domain name to set up a domain trading platform. I,m sure that in the near future will rich a nice value because it´s short and memorable (brandable).

  10. I hope you will think seriously about the following points:

    1) you bought generic.domains

    2) you are a domainer
    3) I am not sure, but if I remember well you even have a developing websites business
    4) you are Greek, so you understand there are other languages in the world in addition to English

With these premises if you do not develop a platform on generic.domains to let small businesses picking up generic domains in many languages, maybe with financing plans, to become international companies within the time requested to transfer those domains, so you are losing a great opportunity.

  11. Very nice pick !

    what about active.domains
    unlimited.domains
    pro.domains
    promo.domains

  12. I was able to grab:

    Valuate.domains
    Check.domains
    Appraisal.domains

Going to develop it or may sell for the right price . what do you guys think?

  13. I happily went with ‘hire’ considering lease and rent were not an option, it is a long term hold

  14. Picked up …..Chicago.domains

  15. I was able to get:
    turkish.domains
    polish.domains
    bulgarian.domains
    huge.domains
