.AI completes migration to the Identity Digital platform

The Government of Anguilla (GOA) has officially migrated the .ai domain name over to Identity Digital since the two bodies partnered last year October.

Here are a few highlights from the press release:

  • With the .ai domain now having more than 600,000 registered domain names, Identity Digital proudly experienced zero downtime or impact to the .ai domain.
  • The domain has helped diversify Anguilla’s economy – building a digitally connected future for the island.
  • The .ai domain now has 24/7 global support from Identity Digital, and a growing list of features that benefit registrars, businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide.

You can read more details of the migration here:

This migration was historic for several reasons. First, the transition was seamless without any downtime or impact to the .AI domain, which now has more than 600,000 registered domain names. The quick migration brings important enhancements to the .AI TLD like 24/7 global support, and a growing list of features that will benefit registrars, businesses and entrepreneurs today and in the years to come.

Second, the transition marks the beginning of a new era for .AI and Anguilla. Today, new domain name registrations are at an all time high with 164 retailers making .AI available to the world. This means that more than 90% of registrars worldwide can now sell .AI domains, giving Anguilla access to a new global distribution channel.

Not only will the growth of the domain help the country diversify its economy, but it will build a digitally connected future for the island. In this future, .AI will continue to be a central hub for innovation that will substantially advance Anguilla’s digital transformation. And Identity Digital will continue to support Anguilla every step of the way.

Dr. Ellis Webster, Premier of Anguilla said, “Congratulations to Identity Digital on the successful transition of .AI. This incredible milestone not only strengthens Anguilla’s digital infrastructure, but also opens doors to more opportunities, economic growth, and global connectivity. We’re eager to embark on this new chapter for our nation working alongside Identity Digital as we build a digitally connected future for all Anguillans.”

The successful migration would not have been possible without the strong support of the Government of Anguilla (GOA). Their partnership and trust in Identity Digital throughout this process has helped transform .AI and Anguilla into a key player in the global digital economy.
