Auctions.nyc and the City of New York had their first auction of premium .NYC domains. The auction featuring 20 domain names ended today on Namejet and 19 out of 20 domains were sold for a total of $70,650.
RealEstate.nyc was the top selling domain name getting a $21,300 winning bid. Apartments.nyc also got a 5-figure bid with $16,155. Roommates.nyc only got a $69 bid and did not sell as the reserve for all 20 names was $500.
These 20 premium domain names were associated with real estate, interior design, construction, gardening and home improvement. Only businesses, organizations and individuals with a physical address in the five boroughs were eligible to bid and register these premium .nyc domain names.
