.Online Ends 1st Day With 35,172 Domain Name Registrations

radix-online.Online ended its 1st day in general availability with 35,172 domain name registrations in its zone files according to NameStat. .Online gained 33,473 domain names in the past 24 hours.

(Please keep in mind that the first 24 hours of general availability have not yet completed. The latest zone file update includes some hours from the EAP too.)

Radix’s much awaited & probably its biggest TLD, .online entered General Availability with a launch record by registering 28,000+ domains in the first 30 minutes itself.

After a Sunrise performance with 775 domains, .online closed with 1130 EAP orders – the highest EAP registrations recorded by any new domain extension.

Several customers even paid an additional premium registration fee to grab names like buyit.online, discuss.online, menus.online, seoul.online, liberty.online, geeks.online, over and above the Early Access Fee.

“.online has extensive global appeal and relevance as it applies to anyone and everyone – hence, we expect it to be a popular domain option”, said Richard Stevenson from 1&1 Internet “Businesses and individuals alike will be attracted to both the clarity and vast potential for attractive new names that .online offers them”.

“We have seen a trend where customers select domains that are relevant and easy to remember – just like .online,” said Theresa Geraghty from GoDaddy, “As the .online extension has broad appeal to a vast number of potential customers, it has the possibility of being one of the highest opening-day registrations this year.”

Radix is elated with the response so far. Business Head at Radix, Sandeep Ramchandani said “We are thrilled with the day 1 performance and delighted to see months of hard work & planning in action. Based on the feedback and the numbers, we strongly believe .online has the potential to be amongst the biggest sellers on Registrars’ storefront.”

The BigBang GA launch was just the first step according to Radix.  .online will be showcased at TechCrunch in September and Radix has invested heavily in advertizing .online to end customers in Downtown San Francisco. Radix will showcase.online on bus shelters, moving billboards next month – with the end goal being customer awareness and adoption.
