.Scot, the New gTLD for Scotland, launched yesterday 23rd of September. As I don’t have access to the .scot zone files I asked the .scot registry on Twitter how many .scot domains have been registered since yesterday. The answer was that 4,509 domains have been registered on the first day of .scot.
I think that the shadow of the 55% ‘NO’ independence poll vote hurt the extension. I was expecting much better results. Maybe it can do better in the next days after the referendum is forgotten.
.Scot had 1,500 registrations after the first minutes of general availability yesterday and 4,000 domains after the first 4 hours.
My application for the .scot zone files is pending since the 20th of August and I see that stats on Ntldstats.com have not been updated either. ICANN should make some changes on the new gtld zone file access.
