Here are the domain name registration results from yesterday’s 5 New gTLD launches:
4 Donuts New gTLDs were out of the EAP pricing and into the real (reg fee) general availability on Wednesday: .Loans, .Life, .Guide and .Church.
.Church has 4,044 domains after day 1 and leads the donuts strings. .Guide has 3387 and .life 2016. .Loans did worst of all with only 632 domains after its first day.
.Guide was my favorite so I grabbed about 12 domains and have 1 in an auction. Most were priced at a low premium that is close to the regular registration price.
Also on the 17th another extension from Rightside entered general availability: .Republican. It has 385 domains today.
.Vegas that launched on Monday and had 3902 domains after day 1 now has 6755 domains. That is because the landrush domains had not been added on day one.
The “New gTLD 1st Day Registrations” include sunrise domain names as well as any domains registered by the registry or any founder’s program. Any registry is allowed to register up to 100 domains for it’s own use and give out another 100 as part of the New gTLD founder’s program.
(I am always comparing the same first hours from their 1st day for all New gTLDs. The hours between General Availability and the first zone files update.)
