Here are the domain name registration results from yesterday’s 8 New gTLD launches:
Afilias’s .Organic entered general availability and has 27 domains after day 1. It only added 1 domain since the day before. But .organic is a restricted New gTLD so it might take a bit longer for registrations to go live. Nevertheless I don’t expect a spectacular increase.
.Vegas also launched yesterday and has 3902 domains today. It added about 3000 new domains from the day before.
Minds + Machines launched .cooking, .country, .fishing, .horse, .rodeo and .vodka. These 6 extensions were the first strings offered exclusively by Minds + Machines and entered general availability on Monday. Here are the domain name registration numbers after day 1:
After Day 1 | Previous Day | Added | |
.cooking | 439 | 61 | 378 |
.country | 221 | 39 | 182 |
.fishing | 387 | 38 | 349 |
.horse | 325 | 40 | 285 |
.rodeo | 107 | 31 | 76 |
.vodka | 468 | 38 | 430 |
1947 | 247 | 1700 |
The “previous day” column includes sunrise domain names as well as any domains registered by the registry.
(I am always comparing the same first hours from their 1st day for all New gTLDs. The hours between General Availability and the first zone files update.)
seems like a failure all around, even vegas is poor.
Yes, .vegas didn’t do too well.
Most domains are reserved and I think that the landrush domains or at least the contested landrush domains have not been added yet.
