Here are the domain name registration results of this week’s 7 New gTLD launches:
On Thusday the 26th of August .HIV entered General Availability and got 127 domain name registrations in the zone files after it’s first day. 67 of these domains were registered in sunrise are owned by the registry. So only 60 domains were registered in the first day. Here is what I think of .hiv.
Afilias launched another color New gTLD on the 26th of August with .Black. and got 153 domains after the first day. Here is the whole story.
.Hamburg entered general availability on the 27th of August and got 13,793 domain name registrations.
On Wednesday, 27th of August, 4 Donuts New gTLDs went out of the EAP pricing and into the real (reg fee) general availability: .Discount, .Fitness, .Furniture and .Schule (School in German)
The first day, or rather first hours, registration numbers were below average as a whole for the 4 New gTLDs from what we are seeing in the past couple of months for the 4 Donuts New gTLDS. The best one, .discount had 1819 domain registrations, .fitness had 1271 domains and .furniture had just 605 domain names. .Schule had only 373 registrations.
These numbers include the Sunrise (trademark) domain registrations which are not that high anyway and EAP registrations.
(I am always comparing the same first hours from their 1st day for all New gTLDs. The hours between General Availability and the first zone files update.)
