Here is the complete press release:
Radix, the largest new TLD registry based in Asia, launched three of its uncontested extensions into Sunrise: .website, .press and .host. Radix enters its first Sunrise partnered with 50+ prominent domain registrars, establishing a strong foundation for success in the international domain market.
Sunrise for .website, .press and .host is running concurrently and will end on Aug. 23, 2014. Landrush will follow, running Aug. 26 to Sep. 15, 2014, and all extensions will enter General Availability on Sep. 17, 2014.
The Sunrise launch of these extensions has been a highly anticipated milestone for Radix, a company that has spent considerable time preparing for the acquisition and launch of its new TLDs. Radix is especially excited to launch .website, which stands as the flagship extension of the program because it offers the first available true generic option to .com. As such, .website is both a mass market TLD and an extension projected to provide high conversion rates for partner registrars.
“The launch of new domain extensions gives individuals, businesses and organizations a great new way to create a personalized online experience,” said Rich Merdinger, Vice President of Domains at GoDaddy, the world’s largest domain name registrar, which is partnering with Radix. “Radix’s lineup of domain name extensions provide both generic and targeted options, enabling anyone to find the name that’s ‘just right’ for them.”
To prepare for the launch of .website, .press and .host, Radix initiated strong marketing campaigns across different media to ensure strong public interest – another incentive for domain registrars partnering with Radix.
Strong domain registrars like GoDaddy, 1&1, Tucows and United Domains provide an important foundation for the success of Radix, which is why Radix works to support its registrar partners and ensure the partnership sign-up process is stress-free.
“Radix has been maintaining their registrar-focussed outlook since the time we’ve started discussions last year. And from what we’ve seen so far, they’re definitely on track!” said David Woroch, Executive Vice President Wholesale of Tucows.
