The .host Pioneer Program (http://dothostregistry.com/pioneer) presents an opportunity for industry and regional leaders to secure .host domains early – during this initiation program, pioneers are invited to start using their brand domain assets well before Landrush.
The program also provides a chance at claiming premium domain name assets and “category killers,” like web.host, cloud.host, server.host, app.host, etc.

Thus far, Radix has already received a substantial amount of inquiries regarding the Pioneer Program and is anticipating a successful early adoption.
“The early interest illustrates a passion for the .host extension in the Web community,” said Sandeep Ramchandani, Business Head at RADIX. “There’s a lot of excitement on our end, too. We’re looking forward to working with members of the hosting industry who will set inspiring examples and make a mark as pioneers of the community’s own namespace.”
The timing of the launch corresponds directly with one of the largest international hosting conferences, HostingCon, taking place on June 16, 2014 in Miami. Radix will be major sponsor of the event and welcomes anyone attending to meet the team at their booth #319.
The Sunrise phase is a 60-day application period during which trademark holders may register their brand.host names. The Landrush phase will follow starting Aug. 26, 2014 when, anyone may register important and generic domain names. Depending on demand, domains may be allocated through auction or on a “first-come, first-served” basis during this phase.

Why not to use [Registry.host] instead [dothostregistry.com]? Dot com is king lol
I think it was their website 1-2 years before .host was delegated. Of course they should switch now.
