Afternic and Go Daddy published their combined weekly domain name sales. The total sales for week 5-26-14 to 6-1-14 were $2.109.201 (last week $1.618.097).

Buyer is not in USA and Buyer’s bank charges some extra fee for USA currency…Buyer does not accept that…
For $28,450 price, they don’t want to pay a $50 or even $100 fee? That doesn’t sound right.

I am in Greece and I have send 100s of wire transfers to the US and to other countries.
Max I have paid was about $65 and the average is $30.
My friend, I am not talking about wire transfers fee! I am saying if you are using different currency and have to pay as Dollars, your local bank charging you commission… That means your local bank selling you Dollars… And this amount is much more than what you think… Wire transfer fee not problem at all…
This is what I am talking about too. The wire transfer fee includes the conversion fee.
I am sending USD converted from Euro. The conversion fee is very small.
Now of course the buyer could be comparing the xe.com conversion price with his bank’s conversion price and he could see a difference there.
Banks have a “sell” and a “buy” USD price while xe.com reports the average of those prices.
Anyway there is no reason to cancel a sale of this magnitude for even $750. Sorry but buyer had no intention of buying the domain.

Too bad, i guess the fees must have been considerable in relation to the price of the domain.
I would just find another escrow / broker service outside the U.S in a different currency which might be less difficult for the buyer.
For that price i would offer the buyer to pay 50 % of his bank charges 🙂
