The Future of Internet Governance: A Discussion with ICANN’s CEO and the Head of the NTIA

President and CEO of ICANN, Fadi Chehadé, Lawrence Strickling of NTIA, Robert M. McDowell, and Ambassador Daniel A. Sepulveda discussed the ICANN transition and its consequences for the evolution of internet governance.

In March, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration of the Department of Commerce asked the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to convene global interested parties to develop a proposal to transition the U.S. government’s stewardship of the Internet’s Domain Name System. The Administration’s decision is an important milestone in the evolution of Internet governance.
