ICANN’s 2013 Nominating Committee seeking candidates

ICANN‘s 2013 Nominating Committee (NomCom) will be attending the 46th ICANN Meeting in Beijing, China, (http://beijing46.icann.org/) and conduct a number of open meetings to provide detailed information to the community about the NomCom’s work and obtain input from the ICANN entities regarding desirable applicant qualities.

The NomCom is actively seeking qualified candidates for the following key leadership positions within ICANN:

  • Three members of the Board of Directors of ICANN
  • Three members of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) (one each from the Africa; Asia/Australia/Pacific; and Latin America/Caribbean regions)
  • Two members of the Council of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO)
  • One member of the Council of the Country-Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO)

Statements of Interest for the positions described above can be submitted through an on-line application form at http://nomcom.icann.org/apply. Applications will be considered in confidence and should be received by 11:59:59 UTC on 1 May 2013 for full consideration. Selections will be announced in September 2013. Successful candidates will take up their positions following ICANN‘s Annual Meeting in Buenos Aires in November 2013.

The 2013 NomCom began its work in October 2012 after the ICANN Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada, and since then has organized outreach events in multiple locations around the globe. The NomCom holds regular conference calls to plan and follow-up on its work.
