The domain name Contact.info was caught after a drop on the 22nd of November 2012. The seller paid a simple backorder and got the domain without an auction. The domain’s original registration date was 2001 but the previous owner let it expire. The .info domain name was sold last week at Sedo for 5,211 USD.
The previous owner of the domain name was FNAC that is an international entertainment retail chain offering cultural and electronic products, founded in 1954. FNAC is the largest retailer of its kind in France.
The domain was bought by a Canadian Company called Shogun Interactive Development.
Five grand strikes me as an absolute bargain.
I wouldn’t have sold at that price.
Where was it backordered ?
Thanks

Was the name in the expired or deleted lists?

I meant did the new owner, get the name from the expired lists ?
I don’t know that.
OK, this is what I needed to know. 🙂
Maybe they must have been tracking the name for some time.
Charley a lot of people have their own lists and track thousands of domains.
I track a lot of one word and 3 letter(among others) domains with my own lists.
I track some domains for 10+ years… 🙂
