Here are the domain name registration results of this week’s 7 New gTLD launches:
On Monday the 18th of August .Career entered General Availability and got 2,838 domain name registrations in the zone files after it’s first day. But most of these domains (more than 85%) are the premium domains registered by the .Career registry.
Rightside launched .haus new gTLD on Wednesday 20th of August and got 1,164 domains after the first day.
On Wednesday, 20th of August, 4 Donuts New gTLDs went out of the EAP pricing and into the real (reg fee) general availability: .Tax, .Cash, .Fund, .Investments.
The first day, or rather first hours, registration numbers were below average from what we are seeing in the past couple of months for the 4 Donuts New gTLDS. The best one, .cash had 1036 domain registrations, .tax had 1014 domains and .fund had 724 domain names. .Investments had only 877 registrations but probably did better for the registry than all 4. The reason? .Investments domains cost $130 to register at Go Daddy. And these are the non-premium domains.
These numbers include the Sunrise (trademark) domain registrations which are not that high anyway and EAP registrations.
Starting Dot launched its 2nd New gTLD this week, .bio, this Thursday 21st of August and got 2,679 domains after it’s 1st day.
(I am always comparing the same first hours for all New gTLDs. The hours between General Availability and the first zone files update.)
I believe you’re looking at the second day zone files, not the first day. There was a zone file issue so only some for the first day were published.
All are first day registrations up to 23.59 GMT.
