New gTLD 1st Day Registrations: .Voting 8,383, .Kaufen 4,328, .Media 3,438, .Pictures 1,577

Here are the domain name registration results of this week’s 9 New gTLD launches:

On the 22nd of July .Moe entered general availability and it had 1,068 domains after it’s first day. Today it has 1,351 registrations.

Yesterday 23th of July 4 Donuts New gTLDs went out of the EAP pricing and into the real (reg fee) general availability: .Media, .Associates, .Lease and .Pictures.

The first day, or rather first hours, registration numbers were ok for .Media but not so good for the other 3 New gTLDs. The best one, .Media, has a total of 3,438 domain registrations today. .Pictures has 1,577 domains today and .Lease has 538 registrations. The worst one was .Associates that has only 506 registrations today. These numbers include the Sunrise (trademark) domain registrations.

Just as a comparison .photography had 10,475 and .photos 4,515 domain registrations after their first day.

Rightside Registry launched 2 New gTLDs this week. .Consulting and .Kaufen (buy in German) enter general availability on Wednesday, July 16th 2014. .Consulting has 3,860 domain registrations today while .kaufen has 4,328.

Finally, .Voting launched on July 22nd 2014 by Valuetainment AG and had 8,383 registrations in the zone file after it’s first day. 99% of the domains are registered in the same registrar so I am not sure if all of these domains are owned by the registry. I will check the zone file and get back on this. .Voting has 9,024 domains today.

On the 22th of July the .Tokyo new domain name extension entered general availability. It had a total of 9,598 domain registrations after it’s first day. These numbers included the Sunrise (trademark) and the Landrush domain registrations. Today .Tokyo has $10,689 domains.

(I am always comparing the same first hours for all New gTLDs. The hours between General Availability and the first zone files update.)
