This past week the following 7 New gTLDs entered general availability with EAP: .construction, .contractors, .directory, .kitchen, .land, .technology and .today.
So this week another 2 New gTLD domain names were sold for 5 figures in the Early Access Program (EAP). Click here to see all New gTLD 5-figure past sales. Both domains were sold at Go Daddy:
wellness.today
apptorrent.directory
Both domains were registered by the same registrant. Although the domain name wellness.today makes sense, the domain apptorrent.directory doesn’t. Both because it does not make a good pair with wellness.today and because it seems like such a bad domain name to register for $12,500. Especially since torrent.directory was available.
There were also 6 domain names sold on the 2nd day of the EAP for about $3,150 each at GoDaddy (3), Enom (2) and 101Domain(1):
x.technology (bought by Aaron Strong)
ire.land (country name hack)
switzer.land (country name hack, probably registered by the same registrant as ire.land)
arizona.land (bought by the owner of arizonaland.com, no redirection yet)
physician.directory (buyer also bought attorney.directory, telehealth.directory, telehealth.today, consultant.directory, drugtest.directory but didn’t buy physicians.directory)
landscaping.contractors (buyer also bought landscaping.guru, landscape.contractors and landscape.equipment)
Only 1 of the corresponding DomainnameNewgtld .com domains from above is free:
apptorrentdirectory.com
There were also 28 domain names bought at about $1200 each such as porn.directory.
Aaron Strong after buying x.technology for $3k+, he also bought the domain name computer.technology.
Finally I see that the domain name learning.technology redirects to fitchlearning.com that offers financial education.
You can register a domain name using the Donuts EAP that is available in registrars that sell Donuts gTLDs. EAP prices start at about $12,500 and are lowered within the course of the week until they reach the regular registration cost after the 7 day period. The EAP wholesale registrar prices are:
$10,000 (day1)
$2,500 (day2)
$950 (day3)
$500 (day4)
$100 (days 5-7)
Go Daddy’s early access prices are $12,539.99 for day one, $3,164.99 for day two, $1,239.99 for day three, $689.99 for day four and $189.99 for days five to seven. After day seven the regular registration cost applies.
I suppose many of us that criticized the flooding of the Internet with hundreds of Todd did acknowledge the novelty inherent in some of these names.
I recall taking my kids to the fair years ago, the type where you have merry go round, and shooting games, if you’re lucky you win some fluffy animal toys; most times you spend 5 times what the novelty is worth before you are handed the tiny or ugly teddy bear.
But it’s novel.
Man, how do you fit some of these names on a billboard?
apptorrentdirectory is a horrible name for $12,500, but it is their money, and more power to them, I think Aaron could have saved $3K, remember with these they keep producing more .tech is coming out as well, dilutes the value somewhat.
I too think that Aaron should have waited 1 day for x.directory.
Agreed, I could have waited. Although, it was on my short list and I didn’t want to lose it…With the registry holding back most single letter .Technology, I wasn’t going to wait ….Paying more now ensures the domain. Hesitating at this moment in time is not in my strategy…… I don’t hesitate after I commit. That goes for my participation in life, action sports , and domaining………..I did just pick up Bank.Technology on the cheap to hedge some of my more expenses purchases…lol….
Well I tracked the L.Technology, Aaron is right, they were held back, I am not sure if these ones are released in oversight. They are now all gone.

I think the last 3 went for $230+. $399 at Godaddy.

what i do not get is most countries are reserved due to ICANN policies , check the whois or thai.land but ire.land and newzea.land are not.
No hacks are reserved because of ICANN rules. Thai could be reserved by Donuts or on the collision list.
Did you notice that .photos pulled a lot of names at 12:01 Mar 1, from the 1200.00 level so they would not be available at the 600.00 level.
A little shady IMHO.
Please provide a few sample domains.
I was waiting to register hot.photos and stock.photos. They were available at 1238.00 all day Feb 28. I had them both in my cart.
Just before midnight they were both pulled and put on registrar reserved and no longer available. I made the mistake trying to save 600.00 on each. I never expected them to pull them just before midnight, so they would not drop to the lower price tier of 645.00. IMHO that was not fair biz.

Mary from what I see stock.photos was always reserved by the registry.
I am not so sure about hot.photos but I monitor 600+ available .photos domains and none of them changed status to reserved in the past week.
I want to sell a new domain I just grabbed … what do you think thc.directory is worth ?
@Hotchickitydog, you can appraise your domain on estibot or valuate, they are the same company.
But as of now, the only one i see that will appraise the new extensions is domainindex.com.
