ICANN sends notice of breach to NameJuice.com responsible for the “Domain Registry of America” scam

Registrar NameJuice.com (“Brandon Gray”) has been behind the “Domain Registry of America”  (DRoA) or “Domain Renewal Group” scam that sends domain name expiration letters all over the world asking for domain name renewals at the price of $35 per year.

The letter comes to your postal address from the public Whois database of registered domain names. The letter seems like a legitimate bill and says something like “Domain Name Expiration Notice”, but it is actually an agreement to transfer your domain from your registrar to their registrar by paying the $35 renewal fee.

As of 16 December 2013, BRANDON GRAY INTERNET SERVICES INC. (dba “NameJuice.com”) (“Brandon Gray”) is in breach of its Registrar Accreditation Agreement (“RAA”) with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (“ICANN”) dated 12 February 2009 (“RAA”). This breach results from:

• Brandon Gray’s failure to maintain and make available to ICANN registration records relating to dealings with the Registered Name Holder, pursuant to Sections 3.4.2 and 3.4.3 of the RAA

ICANN requests that Brandon Gray cure the breach by 13 January 2014, 15 working days from the date of this letter, by taking the following actions:
• Provide ICANN with the registration data and written communications concerning the domain name <businesspotion.com> for the period 22 July 2013 to present, between Brandon Gray and the Registered Name Holder, including a copy of the registration agreement entered between Brandon Gray and the Registered Name Holder of the account.

If Brandon Gray fails to timely cure these breaches and provide the information requested by 13 January 2014, ICANN may commence the RAA termination process.

  1. And nothing about the mass spamming and abuse of the whois system by a registrar ?
    Interesting.

  2. very naughty… i keep getting email scams all the time as well every time i register a new domain name i get the ‘appraisal scam’. the ‘development scam’ and my favorite the ‘activate your domain name scam’… its hard to tell between all the BS these days and a legitimate email.

  3. I second that Kate. I for one have received at least three letters from the so called ‘Domain Registry of America’ in the past.. I had to read the letter twice before realising it was a scam.

  4. I hope this cretin Brandon Gray gets done for this, and then done again multiple times over.
