Afilias ran the 2nd exclusive auction at Go Daddy for 135 .info domains. 131 .info domains sold for a total of $264,280 USD. OnlineCasino.info sold for $30,005, Flowers.info for $22,005, gambling.info for $10,505 and webdesign.info for $10,000. The auction ran for several hours because several domain auctions were extended and finally the auction was completed at about 6am EST.
After the huge success of the first .info premium auction last month, where 103 .info domains sold for a total of $279k, Afilias and Go Daddy ran a 2nd .info auction featuring 135 premium domain names. The 135 .info domain names have been reserved since 2001 while being in a “sunrise pending reallocation” status.
Here are some quick stats from the 2nd premium .info auction:
- The average sales value was $2,017 ($2,714 in the 1st auction)
- The mean sales value was $810 ($1,365 in the 1st auction)
- 69 domains had a price of up to $999 (38 domains in the 1st auction)
- 58 domains had a value between $1,000 and $9,999 (59 domains in the 1st auction)
- 4 domains got a bid of more than $10,000 (6 domains in the 1st auction)
- 4 of the 135 domains didn’t get the $100 bid/reserve (3 out of 106 in the 1st auction)
