CryptoWorld.com sold for $195k to the Binance cryptocurrency exchange

Last week Mike Mann sold the domain name CryptoWorld.com for $194,888 but the buyer not yet known.

Over the weekend Mike Mann revealed the buyer to be Binance.

Binance is a cryptocurrency exchange based in Hong Kong, China.

Mike bought the domain name in 2011 for $15. In August 2017 the domain was for sale by Mike for “just” $29,888.

Whois has still not updated and the domain name resolves to a DomainMarket.com page that says the domain name is not available for purchase.

How will Binance use this name? Maybe to build a community of some sorts?

  1. Great name and superb sale. The Binance motto is “Exchange the World” so I’m not surprised. 😀

  2. Congratulations. I own little similar name

    CryptoEarth(.)com

    Thanks

  3. And no one believed me that the buyer is Binance.

I already knew this on January 14 😀

  4. As I supposed when the sale was announced … (see my comment on DomainInvesting.com).
Binance is another of those crypto-currency scam sites.
Guess where they have got the money to pay for this domain? … yes, siphoning their clients funds …
Stay away, unless you want your money to disappear …

    • Andrea–all money from China/Russia Olgas are corrupted money and those with so much money are finding ways to move out off from the hands of the Communist Party.
Russians and druggies from Latin America buy houses with cash in Florida and Chinese they buy in Vancouver ,Canada and California–go ask Uncle Trump about this…and he is part of it
They are always finding ways to hide their cash….

    • I guess you didn’t win the Lambo 🙁
Congratulations to to**@**com on winning a 2018 Lamborghini Huracan RWD Coupe.
For the Lamborghini winner, please send your Name + Binance Account + Address + Phone number to help@binance.com before 2018/01/14.

Crypto is the future, smart contracts, fractional ownership of killer assets all the future, people who oppose it can continue to renew their .info domains

  5. Binance is a cryptocurrency exchange based in Hong Kong, China.*

They will be shut down fast and the people will be put in jail by the Communist Party of China.

Anyway, I just bought a couple thousands of BTC ICO

  6. They are in Japan doh!

  7. The mainland China is communist while Hong Kong has a limited democracy. They also use different currencies. Not the same crypto haters.

I,m sure binance’s servers are in Japan, Korea and all over the world except China. So what are you going to do to stop them and the IP. Absolutely Nothing! Welcome to the cryptocurrency 101.

    • BINANCE.COM is now behind whois privacy but here is what the last whois had:
Shanghai Bijie Enterprise Management Consulting Co. Ltd.
Shanghai city Chongming County Town East River No. 68 building F room 250 (Shanghai City Economic Development Zone)
      Shanghai
      CHINA

That is mainland China. What they claim now is irrelevant. Trying to hide their location or lie about it doesn’t seem too honest.

  8. nice name, we have CryptoAssetExchange.com if they are interested 🙂

  9. Rick Schwartz would have gotten $2,000,000 for it.
