Most if not all of the domains that were not sold had bids but the reserve was not met. These domains along with several others are going to the extended auction on Namejet.

UPDATE: Some domains were mistakenly reported as sold by the Namejet online bidding system and were later marked as not sold.

  1. HighQuality.com absulote steal at $3500. I would pay double that any day.

  2. Gold .club
    Diamond.club
    Silver.club
    Interest.net

These sold for steals good deals for buyer

    • Mike Mann is right! GTLD’s are DEAD! When the top domains sell for pennies compared to the .COM – you know your getting scammed. Gold.com would sell for millions – so why not jump at the opportunity to get Gold.Club for $4K? Because no one cares about that extension, obviously not domainers or end users.

Last time I checked Gold was way more valuable than Coffee so why did Coffee.Club sell for six figures? Because it was an inside job to influence others to spend awful amounts of money on a dying extension.

Thinking about buying a New GTLD? Go buy a lottery ticket instead, the odds of winning are 100% better.

And if anyone is interested in donating, my bank is open today! Not tax deductible because it’s going to buy me beer & popcorn so I can enjoy the ending of this Pony.Show (Go Register it, I dare you, only $40)

      • True, but it makes good end user domain example citi diamond club, gold gym club etc. not completely dead but i agree with lottery ticket but here u have better odds of winning than playijg lotto.

Look at interest.net for 1700 are u kidding me i hate to be the seller. Formthat one haha

      • Gold.gold would have been no comparison ?

  3. Not a good results for the new Gtld prices… Nothing positive at all. Would be hard for he cheer squad to be cheering those prices.. Maybe they will need their own ‘Alternative Facts’

Travel.Agency – going backwards in price very fast. 8k loss.. jeez..

Will it be under under <$1000 in another year????

  4. Some really nice, top NET domains sold for funny money.
It seems NET is not a good investment now.
I guess many domains didn’t sell well even com because there are too many alternatives now. People become braver to use other extensions.
    The market is ovesaturarated.

    • Ada,
Those prices are wholesale, end users pay way more for great keyword .Net names.
And IMHO .Net is still the best alternative to .com, way better than all those .whatever … 🙂

  5. Wages.com sold for $15k. Only !! Some one explain plz ??

    • Wages.com has been whored around for a long time.

It has been on sale at flippa, namejet back, and forth.

This was not an audience of end users, it was an audience of smart domainers for the most part anytime anything got over $5K.

There is only a few uses for the domain.

  6. Auction did not go well. All the pre hype in the world means nothing with no “end users”.
Monte did a great job, but to take this to the next level it’s time to move the auction where they is end users involved, not domainers looking for wholesale prices.

  7. does anybody knows what happen with gold.trading ?

  8. Agree 100% with Koosah, HighQuality.com is at least a 5 figures name if you sell to an end user.
But those auctions are just wholesale …

BTW, Crete.com sold for 75k, Kostas did you purchase it? 🙂

  9. This auction is marred by bad management, bad vision, limited time, limited scope, and perpetual bungling by organizers who are too used to money coming to them way too easily. The reality is that this is a very small group of domain owners being represented, with limited approvals outside of their own money group due to greed and internal earning targets. No sense to ensure the video and audio feeds are quality to attract others in the future, zero efforts to expand on their limited virtual auction terminal, limited networking with individuals outside of their immediate buying circles. This auction dilutes value by creating the impression that individuals with real money and interest are being represented. In the past they have played funny games with even the organizers spending silly cash to buy new GTLDS in alignment with interests that want to see the value perception go up. Beyond the false cowboy GTLD environment, the real crime here is the incompetence shown in everything from live video streaming to the time spent in inviting real buyers to the table. I’ve never witnessed some lazy indifference to some of the most critical components of this show.

    • WOW! Looks like the Namescon is dying right alongside the New Gtld puppet show? New G’s are pulling Namescon into the crab pot with all the crabs – a severe case of crab mentality!

Let’s be honest, was Namescon ALWAYS envisioned as a platform to unload the New GTLD’s since their not selling without some horse & pony show? Not many .com domainers want to sell their domains for wholesale to other domainers as that is not Domaining at all, that is failing.

It’s OK, Godaddy owns it now so it can fail! Namescon = all about the money which is why it has switched hands so many times!

  10. Thanx for the recap.

It will take weeks to see which of the sold domains actually transfer, and which of the others sell on the online auction, right?

  11. Namescon is an excuse to go party in Las Vegas, go to some “strip clubs”, maybe order a Hooker to your room, do some gambling, have lot’s of drinks, but seriously any conference that has “clowns” like Domain Shane speak at can’t be taken seriously.

Everybody there is just selling you a “pile of shit”, wake up people!!!

  12. The quality of new gtlds was very poor compared to those that are holding the best , they don’t plan on selling for pennies on the dollar to a mostly seasoned .com crowd . Last year was different the gtlds did very well but there was some much better names and a larger percent of the total offering. This year very few and even less above average ones. Many people had a hard time trying to bid online .

    • Last year you had organizers buying the new GTLDs – which is insane as the co-host makes their primary money from consulting to raise value perceptions on new extensions, bragging on video they would participate even knowing the reserves, a sea of “pre-bids” all somehow magically notched just 5% under reserve levels, and an avalanche of special favors to help close friends liquidate names while ignoring most of the rest of the industry.

Can you picture the group sitting in a hotel lobby, laughing at the fact that a sucker is born every minute, and that they were even able to position it all under a conference called “Names CON”? I certainly can because I’ve heard it, whether it is industry leaders laughing at domainer ignorance and gullibility at “chinese domains”, or planning their new transition to make .net look valuable again.

I love the domaining industry, but the bad apples have to go. Duplicates, Reducing, Accidentally, Loveline, Aggregator, Recognize, Valuated… this was exploitation to liquidate bad names using the positive spirit granted to this event that should be very carefully evaluated. When domain.company can’t pull more than $1200 legitimately – and companies like GoDaddy have universally sold out all of their .com owners by cross selling new extensions at every possible point of interaction, it’s time to wake up.

      • Way to exercise your 2nd Amendment Right. You just shot the New g’s DEAD!

Calling it like it is —- “Names CON”

  13. Who owns most of these domains sold? I seen 99% in dot com sold. Name CON buddies ?

  14. Frank, I think LoveLine.com is a fantastic brand name.

    • Yeah I would agree Stuart. Not in the same category as the other descriptives. I think I meant to type “Largest” lol.

  15. The Category killer Hardware.com Redirects to Hardware.group as their Main Domain!

How sad! I can’t believe a company would do this especially since the .COM gets most all the traffic.

    .Group is worthless

  16. Hi Konstantinos,

FOREXACCOUNT.COM was an interesting sale. I just picked up FOREIGNEXCHANGEACCOUNT.COM, I’ll put it up for sale and see how it goes. It appears anything to do with the FX Markets is still generating interest.

Thanks for the Namescon report btw, it’s very informative.
