In the past week (Mar 31 to Apr 6), 660 (737 last week) transactions took place on Sedo’s marketplace and via SedoMLS, totaling $1.3 million ($1.2m last week). Only 248 (277 last week) domains from the 660 were reported by Sedo. The other domains were either private sales or domains that sold for less than 700 USD/EUR/GBP. Sedo confirms sale of Gab.com for $200,002 USD at the Great Domains Auction

Sedo just announced that it sold the domain name gab.com for $200,002 USD.

The domain, registered in 1998, was sold in the March Great Domains Auction and was confirmed as paid today.

The domain seems to have been sold from someone from Texas but the domain was owned for many years by Greater Atlantic Bank. Regulators closed the Reston-based Greater Atlantic Bank in 2009.

Sedo Holding Report 2013: Domain Revenue Down 12.6%, 16.5 million Domains on Platform

Sedo Holding AG published it’s annual 2013 report that reveals that while the company’s overall revenue is up 5.5% (€140.0 million compared to €132.7 million), the domain segment revenue is down 12.6%. The domain related revenues (parking and sales combined) were €27.7 million compared with the previous year‘s €31.7 million.

The number of domains tradable on the platform increased to 16.5 million as of December 31, 2013, following 14.9 million as of December 31, 2012.
